THE HISTORY OF DENTAL IMPLANTS

This course offers a unique possibility to follow the course of the dental implant history through research, treatment modalities and how we have arrived at where we stand today. Three generation of specialists will take you from the early 1960s taking part in the ground research of dental implants, then from personal relationships with Per Ingvar Brånemark and working with prosthetic implant protocols for more than 40 years. Finally state-of-the-art CAD/CAM protocols will be demonstrated that brings history into the future.

Lecturer: Marcus Dagnelid
Dr Dagnelid received his dental degree in 2003 from the faculty of Odontology, University of Gothenburg, Sweden. He subsequently started working in his private clinic with a focus on prosthetic treatment and implantology. In the field of guided surgery, the team is considered opinion leaders being responsible for the development of Nobel Guide concept. Marcus has been a Procera Software specialist since 2005, Simplant Pro user since 2007 and has given numerous lectures both nationally and internationally on the subject guided surgery. He has also worked closely together with Biomet 3i on product testing and development as well as research in the past. In recent years, he has been involved with product testing and development of Atlantis Abutment System, Profile Implants, Facilitate Guided Surgery, Astratech Implant System EV and corresponding projects on Immediate Smile.In 2010 he received his postgraduate degree as a specialist in prosthetic dentistry at the faculty of Odontology, Malmö University. Dr Dagnelid also lectures within Digital Smile Design, DSD Concept, as a certified DSD Master, DSD Lecturer and validated DSD Clinic.
